Hanging Monogram Craft

Cost: less than $10
Time: 2 hours

This weekend, my friend and I decided to do a small craft activity. We are both pretty creative and wanted something cute to hang in our homes! So, we came up with this little crafty idea! I plan on making another one soon. This damask and red one will find its home on my front door of our house- but you could use it in a child's room, or anywhere! Enjoy-

Materials:
-Cardboard or heavy duty flat square shaped board (My friend used a voting board, one of those signs you stick in your yard)
-Buttons of any kind, you can also use pinned buttons with graphics
-Material (we only needed 1 yard, but it depends on how big your board is
-Hot glue gun
-Ribbon
-Optional- We put an inner layer of the soft material that you normally use for chair pads. It made the Monogram raise.

Directions:
First, put material around cardboard to make sure your material is exactly where you want it.
Next, hot glue the Materal to the cardboard. Make sure the material goes completely around the back of the board covering the front totally, and pull it tight to the material will not hang. Close your sides and glue them so your material is now fully covering the entire board.
Then, take your buttons and just place them on your board- you can make designs or monograms. I prefer to mix big, medium and little buttons throughout it.
Now, your ready to hot glue them on! This part is time consuming, but it is fun because you will begin to see your creation!
After you make the Monogram/Design you want with your buttons, take the ribbon and tie it in a bow and glue the legs of the ribbon on the back of the board!
and taaa daaaa!

Optional: We couldnt find the color buttons we wanted, so we got the glossy brown and red spray paint and made our own! It worked perfectly!

After you hot glue, you may have to go through and get all the extra little hot glue strings off- you can see some here.
